Padres' Jurickson Profar: Three RBI in Tuesday's win
Profar went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Marlins. Profar was the main source of offense for the Padres in this one. He got his night started on the right foot with a two-run blast to center in the first inning and then added on with an RBI single in the fifth. Padres' Jurickson Profar: Racks up three hits
Profar went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-1 win over Atlanta. Profar began his evening with a first inning walk before rounding the bases on a home run from Jake Cronenworth. He later doubled in a run in the fourth and eventually scored again to make it a 7-0 game. Profar remains as locked in as anyone at the plate. He's currently riding a seven-game hit streak during which he's slashing .400/.500/.560 with four RBI, five runs and a 5:4 BB:K. For the year, the 31-year-old is on pace to put up career numbers across the board, hitting .335/.422/.522 with seven homers, 31 RBI, 27 runs and a 24:27 BB:K in 187 plate appearances.... Padres' Jurickson Profar: On base four times in loss
Profar went 1-for-1 with three walks and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Rockies. Profar notched a base hit in the fourth and worked walks in his other three plate appearances. It's the first time since June 29, 2022 that he's walked three times in one game. Profar went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Rockies. Profar has hit safely in eight of 11 games in May, going 13-for-40 (.325) with three homers and 10 RBI this month. The 31-year-old is slashing .320/.402/.517 with seven long balls, 29 RBI, 23 runs scored, eight doubles and two stolen bases over 44 contests. Profar's best season in the majors was the abbreviated 2020 campaign, and he hit just nine homers with 46 RBI over 125 games last year -- he'll likely post stronger marks in 2024, but his current pace will be tough to sustain.... Profar went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Cubs. Profar, who's working on a four-game hit streak, was the only source of offense for the Padres, providing a two-run homer in the top of the eighth to put San Diego ahead 2-1. However, the Cubs scored a run apiece in the eighth and ninth to erase Profar's long ball and steal the win. Profar went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in Saturday's blowout win over the Diamondbacks. He also stole a base. Profar reached on a fielder's choice play in the first before stealing his second base of the season and later kicked off a two-run inning with a leadoff single in the fourth. He would add two more hits on the night, including a two-run homer off Brandon Hughes in the seventh as the Padres ran away with their fourth straight win. The veteran outfielder has now ripped off three or more hits in three of his last four games and has hit safely in nine of his last 10. Profar went 4-for-4 with a run and two RBI in Wednesday's 6-2 win against Cincinnati. Profar recorded his first four-hit game of the campaign and his third multi-hit performance over his past four contests. Profar went 3-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's win over Cincinnati. Profar extended his modest hitting streak to seven games, and he has three multi-hit performances over that stretch. The veteran logged his third straight game in the leadoff spot Tuesday and is batting atop the lineup again Wednesday versus right-hander Graham Ashcraft. Profar went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Reds. It looked like San Diego's offense could be in for a big day when Profar led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo shot off Nick Lodolo, but that turned out to be the only hit for the team until the ninth frame. The long ball extended Profar's hitting streak to six games, and he's batted .364 (8-for-22) with a pair of homers, four RBI and six runs during that stretch. Profar has served as San Diego's leadoff man each of the past two contests, and he could stick there for a while if he continues to hit well. Profar went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and three RBI in Sunday's win over the Dodgers. A day after being singled out by Dodgers catcher Will Smith for being irrelevant, Profar showed his relevancy by roping a bases-loaded double off the wall in center field to put the Padres up 6-3 in the seventh. Profar went 1-for-3 with a grand slam home run against the Giants in a 4-0 victory Saturday. Profar accounted for all of San Diego's runs in the victory with his first-inning grand slam. It was the first long ball of the season for the veteran, whose high mark in homers for his career is 20 in each of the 2018 and 2019 campaigns. Padres' Jurickson Profar: Travels with team to Korea
Profar traveled with San Diego on the team's trip to Korea despite dealing with a sprained right ankle, per MLB.com. Profar was injured in the Padres' final Cactus League game Wednesday when he pulled up while rounding first base. Manager Mike Shildt indicated after the contest that Profar suffered a mild right ankle sprain but that doctors believed he would be "just fine." Shildt also said that the veteran outfielder would make the trip to Korea for San Diego's season-opening two game set versus the Dodgers, though it remains to be seen if he'll be ready to play by the first contest Wednesday. Padres' Jurickson Profar: Exits with apparent injury
Profar was removed from Wednesday's Cactus League against the Athletics with an apparent leg injury, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports. Profar suffered the injury while rounding first base, and he subsequently limped off the field. It's poor timing for the Padres, who are finishing up their Cactus League slate ahead of the season-opening series in South Korea versus the Dodgers next week. Padres' Jurickson Profar: Back in San Diego on one-year deal
Profar agreed to a one-year, $1 million contract with the Padres on Monday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. He can earn an additional $1.5 million in incentives based on plate appearances. Profar had a nice finish with the Padres last season (.776 OPS in 14 games) after a disastrous run with the Rockies (.680 OPS in 111 games) and is back for another stint in San Diego. Padres' Jurickson Profar: Big night in Chicago
Profar went 2-for-5 with a double, four RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox. The 30-year-old got the best of Mike Clevinger on Saturday, lacing a bases-clearing double in the first frame and adding an RBI single in the second, which chased the White Sox starter from the game. In 13 games since Profar rejoined the Padres on Sept. 8, he has gone 11-for-39 (.282) with two doubles, one home run, six RBI and four runs. Profar signed a minor-league contract to return to the Padres organization Sept. 1 and got called up to the big club Friday. He made the start at first base one day later and gave the Padres their first lead in the fourth inning with his two-run blast to right field. He ended the contest as one of two San Diego players with multiple hits, though his contributions weren't enough to carry the team to a win.
